Refund & Cancellation Policy

How refunds and cancellations work for tickets and events.

1. Scope

This policy applies to ticket purchases made through EventsNet. The contract for the event is between you (the attendee) and the event organizer. EventsNet facilitates payment and may process refunds in line with this policy and the organizer’s decisions.

2. Event Cancelled by Organizer

If an organizer cancels an event and does not reschedule, we will refund the full ticket price (including any booking or service fees you paid) to the original payment method. You will be notified by email. Refunds are processed within the timeframe set out in section 6 below.

3. Event Postponed or Rescheduled

If an event is postponed or rescheduled, the organizer may offer to:

  • Honour your ticket for the new date, or
  • Offer a full refund if you cannot attend the new date.

You will be contacted with the new date and options. If you are entitled to a refund and request it within any deadline given by the organizer, we will process it in line with this policy.

4. Cancellation by You (Attendee)

If you change your mind or can no longer attend:

  • Refunds are not automatic. Whether a refund is available depends on the organizer’s event policy and how far in advance you request it.
  • Many organizers allow refunds or transfers only up to a certain date before the event (e.g. 7 or 14 days). After that, tickets may be non-refundable.
  • You must submit a refund request via our platform or by contacting us (see section 7). The organizer will be consulted; we will process approved refunds as set out below.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  • Use the link in your booking confirmation email, or
  • Contact us via Contact Us with your order/booking reference, event name, and reason for the request.

We will respond and, where the refund is approved by the organizer or required under this policy, process it within the timeframe below.

6. Processing Time and Method

Approved refunds are normally processed within 5–10 business days after approval. The refund will be made to the same payment method you used (e.g. the same mobile money number or card). Depending on your bank or mobile operator, it may take additional time for the funds to appear in your account.

7. Non-Refundable Cases

We may not be able to offer a refund (or only a partial refund) where:

  • The organizer’s policy states that tickets are non-refundable and the event is still going ahead.
  • You request a refund after the organizer’s refund deadline.
  • You did not attend the event and the organizer does not allow no-show refunds.
  • You breached the event or platform terms (e.g. fraud or misuse).
